Renovation of Filling System

An existing filling machine for jugs has been rebuilt. The core objective of the project was to improve filling accuracy and to increase the machine’s capacity. The products are filled in 4 sizes of jugs, namely 0.250L, 0.750L, 1L, and 5L.

Before Renovation

4 jugs were filled side by side while the machine was stationary. Then, each jug was individually advanced to the capping station. As a result, the filling system and capping station alternately remained idle.

Filling was time-based and pneumatically controlled. Variations in the product’s viscosity meant that the volume in the jugs also varied.

After Renovation

3 jugs are filled side by side and in sync as jugs are advanced to the capping station. This means that both the filling system and capping station operate continuously at a constant and uniform pace.

Filling is now performed with servo-driven dosing pumps, which deliver the same volume of product time after time, regardless of variations in product viscosity.

Results After Renovation:

The filling accuracy has significantly improved.

The capacity has drastically increased. For example, the capacity for 5L jugs has increased by about 20% and for 0.250L jugs by as much as 50%.
